We are praying for our clergy as they gather for their Retreat week. May the Holy Spirit inspire and guide them.

Hello from Father Michael, Deacon Vince, Sister Kathleen, Danielle and the Parish Office!

Arrangements during the Archdiocese clergy Retreat

Father Michael will be on Retreat this week and back for the weekend Masses. Communion services will be held at the times scheduled for our midweek Masses.

St Jude presbytery update: meeting on Monday, 20 November, at 4.30pm at St Jude church

Father Michael will be leading a site inspection and meeting to discuss the future of the presbytery.

The Parish Pastoral Council has offered the following statement:

The PPC, Finance and Building Committees have been in consultation with Fr Michael and the Archbishop's office regarding the redevelopment of the St Jude's Presbytery. The presbytery has been uninhabited for many years and is in a state of disrepair: in fact, we have had many thefts of Vinnies goods and recently have had squatters.

To renovate and occupy this space has been a priority for the PPC for many years. The Finance Committee, after much consultation and deliberation of the two proposals put forward, will be recommending that, in the medium term, the Syro-Malabar Community proposal will be the preferred option for the use of the Presbytery whilst the much longer-term future of the Presbytery is decided.

The outcome of this decision is that the Presbytery will get the long overdue renovation that is required and the additional income stream will be able to pay for the renovations. While dialogue with both parties is taking place, we would like to invite any interested parishioners to a meeting at the presbytery on site at St Jude's from 4:30pm on Monday 20 November. It will be an opportunity for you to have a look at the current state of the presbytery and to
provide you with further information.

The decision to rent out our vacant building to a community group is a positive step toward fulfilling our mission as a parish. We are excited about the possibilities it brings and look forward to the many ways it will enrich our parish life and outreach efforts.
