Reconciliation in our Parish

First Reconciliation in our Parish 2025

 Welcome!

Thank you for considering the Sacrament of Reconciliation for your child.

I'm Cathy, the Sacramental Coordinator for 2025, and I'll take you through the steps for your family to make this journey with Jesus.

Reconciliation is available to a baptised Catholic child who is in Year 3 or above in 2025. Children will have their First Reconciliation on their choice of dates Wednesday 2 April at St Jude Church, Thursday 3 April at St John Vianney Church and Saturday 6 April at St John Vianney Church.

Preparation for Reconciliation brings together classroom education and a family-based programme of information, discussions and activities to walk with Jesus and learn how to choose goodness, look for forgiveness for mistakes, and make true peace with each other. Your family will also be invited to family-focussed Masses and reflection sessions with Father and the Sacramental Team to share your journey with each other.

If your child doesn't attend a Catholic school, they need to join the preparation course at our Parish School of Religion. After you have registered for Reconciliation (see below), please contact Tim McNamara on:
0413 522 731; or maxband@iimetro.com.au

If you feel that your child isn't ready for this step in their faith journey, or you may not have the time or opportunity to participate in the preparation programme, we encourage you to leave this commitment until there’s a better opportunity to understand Reconciliation. Sacraments can be received at any age.

The journey starts by enrolling with the parish, using the Qkr! app by Mastercard.  If you are told that Qkr! is not available for your device you can still use Qkr! via a web browser and the following link Qkr! by MasterCard (qkrschool.com)

Please note that it's necessary to make a separate registration for each child who's receiving a Sacrament in 2025, and necessary to make a separate registration for each Sacrament they will receive. If you try to register more than one child in a single transaction, Qkr! will assume that you mentioned your first child by mistake and delete them from the registration.

If you already use Qkr! then enter our parish name (Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish Weston Creek) and follow the "Parish" link.

If you're not familiar with Qkr!, it's available from the Google Play Store or the App Store on iPhone. Once you've downloaded it, you register by entering our parish name and following the "Parish" link. Please do not use the link to a Parish school: Qkr! will take you to a dead end!

Registration includes a cost of $65 to cover the cost of the preparation materials and a gift for your child.

When you've registered, you'll join the Reconciliation 2025 email group which will keep you in touch with information, invitations, opportunities to share experiences, and more.
