No Mass this Weekend.

Both Parish churches are in lockdown from 5.00pm Thursday 12 August to 5.00pm Thursday 19 August inclusively.

Please find below a message from Archbishop Christopher Prowse.
"Archbishop Christopher Prowse has called on the ACT Catholic faithful’s support for the seven day lockdown announced on Thursday by Chief Minister, Andrew Barr. The ACT will enter a seven day lock down from 5pm, Thursday 12 August. “Let us be a cooperative as we can with regard to the government regulations and the lock down,” the Archbishop said. “Let’s also be as thoughtful as possible in regards to our neighbours and their concerns during this time.” All archdiocesan churches and parish offices in the ACT will close for seven days at the 5 pm deadline. The 12.15 pm Monday to Saturday Masses and the 11 am Sunday Mass at St Christopher’s Cathedral will continue to be live streamed as normal at the following link:

Catholic Education director Ross Fox has announced that the ACT’s catholic schools will move to  eemote learning from Tuesday 17 August for the lock down’s duration. The schools will be provided with two pupil free days beforehand to allow essential staff to prepare for the launch of the remote learning platform. Ross emphasised he was grateful for the patience and understanding of the ACT’s  Catholic education sector. “It is my sincere hope that our community is safe and remains settled during this difficult time,” he said.

"Meanwhile, Father Michael would like to remind you to keep praying the Pandemic Prayer (see below).

OUR FATHER, we trustingly pray to you, asking that the Coronavirus may do no more harm, that the pandemic may be swiftly brought under control, and that you restore the health of those affected and peace to the places where the virus has arrived. Welcome into your kingdom the people who have died from this illness, and comfort their families. Sustain and protect the healthcare personnel who are fighting it, and inspire and bless those working to control it. Lord Jesus, doctor of our bodies and souls, we feel impotent in the face of this international health emergency, but we trust in You. Give us peace and health. Mother Mary, protect us and continue to take care of us, and lead us through your love to your Son, Jesus. Amen.
