2025/2026 Christmas and New Year Timetable

2025 Parish Christmas Party - Friday 5 December @ 5.30PM

 

Parish Christmas Party 2025 - Friday 5 December  - 5.30pm at St Jude’s School, Holder. 

ALL PARISHIONERS are invited to come along! Kindly RSVP using this link: https://signup.com/go/uFSJXBA, the QR code (below) or the RSVP sheet provided in the church foyers.

You are invited to bring an appetiser, main, salad or dessert to share with the community (please bring dishes ready to serve - no reheating available.). BBQ (steaks, sausages and bread) and drinks (beer, wine, soft drinks and juice) and cutlery are provided. Come along for an evening with friends and fellow parishioners.

Volunteers Needed 

We need the support of the Parish Community to make our Christmas Party a success! We are looking volunteers to help with various tasks on the day like, set-up, food handling and clean up. VIGIL MASS - SATURDAY 8 OCTOBER MOVED TO ST JOHN VIANNEY CHURCH

Please be advised that the Saturday Vigil Mass on Saturday 8 November will be celebrated at St John Vianney Church, Waramanga. 

This is due to a major event at St Jude Primary School that evening.

Due to a system error at the Archdiocese level, the weekly bulletin is not able to be emailed.

Communion Services in place of Weekday Masses - Tuesday 21 October to Friday 21 November

From Tuesday 21 October to Friday 21 November, weekday Masses in the Parish (including Saturday 8am) will be replaced with Liturgy of the Word and Communion Services. 

Weekend Masses will proceed as scheduled.

Vigil Mass - Saturday 4 October

The Vigil Mass on Saturday 4 October will be celebrated at St John Vianney Church 

This will allow St Alphonsa to use St Jude Church for their Feast Day Celebrations that weekend. 

THE SOLEMNITY OF THE ASSUMPTION - FRIDAY 15 AUGUST

The Parish Mass timetable for the Solemnity of the Assumption is as follows: 

7am at St John Vianney Church, Waramanga, 

9.30am at St John Vianney Church, Waramanga with school attending, 

12noon at St Jude Church Holder with school attending and, 

6pm at St John Vianney Church, Waramanga.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)


A new RCIA will commence on Sunday 24 August, 2pm at St John Vianney Church meeting room. This 15 module program will be held every Sunday afternoon for those who are interested to deepen their knowledge of the Catholic faith. To register, please email the parish office or write your name on the register in the foyer.

 

THE MEMORIAL OF ST JOHN VIANNEY - MONDAY 4 AUGUST

Mass will be celebrated at 9.30am at St John Vianney Church, Waramanga. The St John Vianney School students will be attending.

It is a special day in the life of our parish as we celebrate his feast day and also recall the establishment of the first parish in Weston Creek on 4 February 1971. With hearts full of gratitude, we thank God for His goodness and mercy over the years, and seek His continued guidance for the future. 

MONDAY 7AM MASS will discontinue from August 2025

From August 2025, the Monday 7am Mass will no longer be held in the parish. Some alternative options on the south side include: 7am Sts Peter and Paul Church, Garran (Latin Mass); 7.30am St Christopher’s Cathedral, Forrest; and 9.30am Holy Trinity Church, Curtin.

ADORATION BEFORE MASS CANCELLED - 28 AND 29 JUNE

Alternatively, Adoration is available in the chapel at St John Vianney Churh, Waramanga from 7.30am - 5pm weekdays or anytime (excl Mass times) for keyholders.

MONDAY 9 JUNE MASS will be celebrated at 8AM

 Due to the public holiday

MONDAY 2 JUNE MASS will be celebrated at 8AM

 As it is the Australian Reconciliation Day public holiday.

COMMUNION SERVICE - 9.30AM THURSDAY 22 MAY

Due to the Archdiocesan Clergy Assembly, the 9.30am Mass on Thursday 22 May at St Jude Church will be replaced with the Liturgy of the Word and Communion Service.

PARISH OFFICE CLOSED - TUESDAY 13 MAY
